Murals are painted directly onto a wall.  I’ve painted quite a few murals over the years in people’s houses and in restaurants, mainly cartoon characters, landscapes and pop stars. The largest being a 30 x 6ft ltalian landscape I painted in 1991 at Lazio Restaurant in Edinburgh. 

Depending on the job, I prefer to use Acrylic paint for murals as the colours are bright, it’s water based paint that dries quickly and doesn’t smell like oil paint and turps would, which is a bonus when painting in a restaurant.
