10 Downing Street

Yes, the actual 10 Downing Street. I was already doing design work for Nippers children’s wear shop in Edinburgh when J.K. Rowling bought the Nippers famous All In One Suit as a present for Gordon and Sarah Brown’s new baby.

The Daily Record picked up on the story and offered a Nippers Suit as a competition prize. It was a great Boost for Nippers. This was when Gordon Brown was Chancellor so I produced the ‘Whithin everyone’s Budget’ posters.

When their second child was born they were also photographed on the front page of the newspaper wearing another Nippers striped baby suit.

Later, someone from the Downing Street office commissioned Nippers applique blankets for 10 Downing Street and for Sarah Brown’s charity. ‘Piggy Bank Kids’ to sell in their gift shop and as presents for friends.

I came up with some designs for the blankets and also designed the sew on label and swing tickets.
